In Born With Wings, Daisy Khan tells the story of her life and what she was able to accomplish when she set aside other people’s preconceived notions of who Muslim women are. Interweaving stories from her childhood in Kashmir, her involvement in the “Ground Zero” Mosque controversy, and her work in promoting women’s rights around the world, Daisy Khan is now on a mission to engage with people from around the country to start honest conversations about the place of faith, spirituality, feminism and activism in our daily lives.
Daisy Khan is the Founder and Director of Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality & Equality
(WISE), a New York based non-profit. She has appeared on CNN, MSNBC and ABC and is frequently quoted in print publications such as The New York Times and TIME Magazine. The Huffington Post listed her among the “Top Ten Women Faith Leaders.”
