Part of Redmond Reads: One Book, One Summer, One Redmond
For adults and teens.
Facilitator Dori Gillam takes us deeper into Nathan's philosophy for connecting. Join us for more conversation about respect, compassion and community.
Mr. Vass connects with people on and off his bus and writes their stories beautifully. He observes humanity and contributes the compassion and empathy we all need. Once you read this lovely book of vignettes, you will want to connect with your neighbors to discuss it. We are offering two community conversations.
To prepare to attend one of these conversations you will need to do two things.
First, read Nathan’s book! You’ll notice he reaches out to people he’s never met, seeking to listen and understand. He is so open and inclusive that he creates “small moments” for the people he meets and for himself. He bridges gaps in our society.
Second, speak to at least one other person whom you haven’t met, or haven’t really listened to, creating a “small moment” between the people you connect with and be prepared to share something about your experiences.
