Join us for a discussion of the timely and beautiful, ALONE TOGETHER: Love, Grief and Comfort During the Time of COVID-19. The book is a collection of essays and poetry by dozens of literary heavyweights like Nikki Giovanni, Luis Alberto Urrea, and Kwame Alexander, as well as many other vibrant and influential regional writers. The real star behind this collection of unique writings about COVID is Seattle's own Jennifer Haupt, the book's initiator and editor. She will be joined by three local contributors, Jennie Shortridge, Donna Miscolta and Serena Chopra.

Jennifer Haupt is an author and journalist. Her debut novel, In the Shadow of 10,000 Hills (2018) was awarded the Foreword Reviews Bronze Indie Award for Historical Fiction. She teaches at Hugo House and elsewhere.

Serena Chopra is a writer, dancer, filmmaker and a visual and performance artist. She has two books, This Human (2013) and Ic (2017) and two films, Dogana/Chapti (2018) and Mother Ghosting (2018), and is Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Seattle University.

Jennie Shortridge is the bestselling author of five novels, including Love Water Memory. She is currently working on a memoir.

Donna Miscolta is the author of three books of fiction. Living Color: Angie Rubio Stories (September 2020) was hailed  as “fiction at its very best: intimate, universal, historical, and relevant as hell to our current era.” (Sharma Shields)

All net profits of the book will be donated to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) to help booksellers hit hard by the pandemic.

The book is available for purchase from Third Place Books here: Alone Together
