Barely Tolerable Tales

7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Description

For adults.

Presented by The Cresswell Club.

We cordially invite you for a series of live readings throughout the fall season, pairing tales of horror and the occult with recipes for cocktails to mix and enjoy while you listen.

The Cresswell Club began as a series of Halloween and Walpurgis-Night ghost story readings with friends and family in New York City, and was continued by the Carpenter Brothers when they moved back to their hometown of Seattle.

Cocktail: The Great God Pan

2 oz gin (preferably Hendrick’s)

1 oz lime juice

¾ oz simple syrup

2–3 dashes celery bitters (preferably a nice aromatic one, like Scrappy’s)

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cucumber slice (optional).

Mocktail: Cranberry Spice

1.5 oz sparkling water

2 oz cranberry juice

4 dashes Peychaud's Bitters

2.5 oz apple cider

10 cranberries (plus additional for garnish)

Orange wedge

Muddle cranberries and orange wedge in cranberry juice, and then pour in the rest of the ingredients and stir with a spoon. Garnish with cranberries and orange peel and serve on ice.
