Lecture by Lawrence Baca.  Mr Baca is Pawnee, a legal scholar and civil rights activist. He is retired from the US Department of Justice and a recipient of the American Bar Association’s prestigious Thurgood Marshall Award

Join us to fully explore examples of Native American imagery used in sports and advertising from the permanent collection at the National Museum of the American Indian NMAI which is part of the Smithsonian complex.

All items discussed were donated to the NMAI by Lawrence Baca from his extensive personal collection and represent the use/misuse of Native American images.
