Baking with Miss Bekka: Oatmeal Chocolate Chip or Raisin Cookies

Are you craving a treat to make your day a little extra special? Do you want to rebel and make dessert before dinner? Make your own oatmeal chocolate chip or raisin cookies. Listen to stories as your homemade goodness bakes in the oven. You'll even have a chance to show your final product to the rest of the group (optional).

Ingredients


      • 1/2 cup (4 ounces or 115 grams) unsalted butter, softened
      • 2/3 cup (125 grams) light brown sugar, packed
      • 1 large egg
      • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
      • 3/4 cup (95 grams) all-purpose flour
      • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
      • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
      • 1/4 teaspoon table salt
      • 1 1/2 cups (120 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats
      • 3/4 cup (120 grams) raisins or chocolate chips
      • 1/2 cup walnuts (65 grams), chopped (optional)

    Two mixing bowls
    Mixing spoon
    Standing mixer/electric mixer (optional)
    1/2 cup

    Small bowl (cracking egg)
