Getting Started with Credit

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Description

For teens and adults.

Presented by Hopelink

Unravel the mystery of getting and keeping good credit with a Hopelink Financial Coach.

Learn how to safely pull and read your credit report. Explore what credit is, ways you are using credit and what areas you would like to improve.

When people talk about having “good” or “bad” credit they’re usually talking about their credit history or scores. Knowing how credit histories, reports and scores work can help you take steps to build a positive record. That positive record can help you reach your goals by potentially lowering costs for borrowing money and paying deposits on utilities and cell phones. It can also reduce barriers to housing and employment.

Please register with an email address before 12pm on April 14. You will be sent a Zoom link the day before the event. Video and call-in options available.

This is the first workshop in a three-part series. Register for each workshop separately:

Reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities is available by request. Please contact the library at least seven days before the event for ASL interpretation, captioning services and/or other accommodation for online programs. Send your request to Tandra Solvey at tlsolvey@kcls.org.
