Diana Ma will discuss the importance of Asian American representation in children’s books drawing upon her experience as an author of Young Adult and Middle Grade books. She will also talk about her involvement with the We Need Diverse Books organization and the Highlights Foundation, and her equity-minded teaching of children's literature, creative writing, English composition, literature, and intercultural communication.
Diana's debut Young Adult novel, Heiress Apparently, was a finalist for a 2021 Washington State Book Award.
