Rent Smart: Information for Survivors of Domestic Violence

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Description

Join Solid Ground tenant counselors to discuss tenant’s rights and procedures from the Residential Landlord Tenant Act of Washington State. Learn how you can break a lease without liability after an incident of abuse, how to make a report of an incident to a qualified third party, how to try getting an eviction off your tenant screening report, how to get a security deposit back, and how your rights are impacted by legal protections during COVID.

A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center will also be on hand to help with answering questions.

If you are currently living in King County and being threatened with eviction, contact the Housing Justice Project for legal assistance at 206.267.7069 or hjpstaff@kcba.org.

Please register. You will receive an email with a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. You can also connect by telephone.
