Kirkland Analog Days

11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Kirkland

Description

There's something for everyone, young and old! For the younger, see outdated technology in action for perhaps the very first time! For the older, remember with pleasure the joys of a world before computers. Below is a schedule of the day's activities:

11am-1pm: The Connections Museum of Seattle

View different types of vintage rotary telephones that can be used to make real phone calls within the library.

11am-5pm: Polaroid Camera Station

Take a photo of yourself, a friend, or a family member and watch it develop before your eyes.

1-2pm: Blank Books

Construct your own handmade blank book and find out how to use it like your favorite app.

2-3pm: Nancy Stewart

Construct and play your own musical instrument with the help of Nancy Stewart.

2-4pm: Cabot Guidry

Participate in a "Type-In" with manual and electric typewriters from Cabot Guidry's historical collection.

3-4pm: Fountain/Dip Pens

Try an assortment of fountain, glass and metal dip pens.

3-5pm: Vinyl Records Cafe

Bring and listen to favorite records from your collection. Or listen to some of ours!
