Join Dr. Tanisha Brandon-Felder, host of YouTube's, Talking Books with Tanisha! She will be in conversation with Patrick Flores-Scott.
They will discuss the release of his new YA novel, No Going Back, the finale title in his South King County Cycle. Hear about writing, teaching and the role of books in kids' lives.
Dr. Tanisha Brandon-Felder is the director of PreK and Elementary Success in the Highline School District. She was previously the Director of Equitable Leadership, Pedagogy and Family Engagement in the Shoreline School District for eight years, and a classroom teacher in the Seattle Public Schools for 16 years, in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country. Dr. Brandon-Felder specializes in race and equity, culturally responsive practices and, primarily the opportunity gap occurring with Black and Brown students.
Patrick Flores-Scott is the author Y.A. books, Jumped In, American Road Trip and No Going Back. Jumped In won the Washington State Book Award for YA. American Road Trip earned multiple starred reviews, was Young Adult Library Services Best Book, and a Bank Street Best Book. No Going Back earned the Junior Library Guild Gold Standard.
