About Michael:
"I am a proud enrolled member of the Qawalangin Tribe of Unalaska and a Program Manager at Peer Washington. My journey into the world of drumming and singing commenced in the transformative year of 2020 when I embarked on my path to recovery at the Northwest Indian Treatment Center. It was during this pivotal period that I had the privilege to create my very first drum and immerse myself in the beauty of traditional songs. Since that time, my passion for this ancient art has flourished, leading me to handcraft several drums for my children. Through these drums, we have collectively embraced the profound healing and spiritual connection that this sacred medicine imparts. My aspiration now is to extend this extraordinary healing power to individuals who may have never encountered its profound benefits otherwise. I yearn to share this ancient medicine with those who may not have had the opportunity to experience its transformative effects, in the hopes of fostering a deeper connection to our heritage and our own inner selves."
