As we descend into the darkest shortest days of the year it’s a natural time for retreat and inner reflection. A time to focus on where we have been in our lives journey and where we are choosing to go in coming days. We acknowledge the good and the 'bad’ moments that have shaped us and what we have taken from them. As a time with shorter days and long nights, we can explore stillness, introspection and themes of darkness and light. We will allow our brains to brain dump ideas based around these prompts and then put together a visual journal of our thoughts using mixed media (watercolors or markers), illustrated fonts and doodling! Facilitated by SilverKite® Teaching Artist Ashley McEneny.
Supplies:
-Piece of paper: watercolor or mixed media (any size will work). You can also use a journal if preferred
-Watercolors (cup of water, brush or brushes, pigment set)
-A few markers or highlighters
-Thick and Thin Permanent Markers
-Scissors
-Glue Stick
-A damp cloth or paper towel for sticky hands
