Rent Smart: Learning the Basics

3:00 PM – 4:45 PM

Description

Are you a renter in Washington state and want to know more about your rights, general procedures, landlord and tenant responsibilities, making a repair request, or even what to do if you decide you need to break your lease legally?

Join Solid Ground tenant counselors to learn about:

  • Landlord duties under the Residential Landlord-Tenant Act.
  • Tenants’ responsibilities while living in a residential rental.
  • Understanding repair issues and the process to request repairs.
  • How to end or break your lease under state laws.

A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center may be available during presentations for general legal information. Legal aid resources are shared during the presentation as well.

If you are currently living in King County and being threatened with eviction, contact the Housing Justice Project for legal assistance at 206-580-0762 or hjpstaff@kcba.org.

Please register. You will receive an email with a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. You can also connect to this program by telephone.
