About the Exhibition: February 14th - March 3rd at the Sammamish Library

Misunderstood Moments by Lens of Youth shares real stories of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD), paired with original artwork created by youth. The program also features original artwork by neurodivergent artists.

Some behaviors associated with IDD are often misunderstood, not because of intent, but because they are unfamiliar. Through stories and art, this program invites the community to pause and see individuals beyond assumptions or behaviors.

Visitors are encouraged to engage with the exhibit, take part in reflection activities, and sign a community pledge to:

• Take time to understand
• See the person, not the behavior
• Choose compassion and build inclusion

Together, these small actions help build a more understanding and inclusive community, one story at a time.
