Rent Smart: Evictions & Terminations

5:00 PM – 6:45 PM

Description

Are you being threatened with eviction by your landlord or property manager? Are landlords even allowed to evict tenants themselves? Will having an eviction affect your chances of being able to rent again? Want to know when a landlord can terminate your tenancy?

Join Solid Ground tenant counselors to learn:

  • An overview of the legal eviction process.
  • What it means to rent with an eviction on your record – and your options.
  • Limitations on landlords’ rights to terminate tenancies.
  • The various notices landlords must give to terminate tenancies.

A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center may be available during presentations for general legal information. Legal aid resources are shared during the presentation as well.

If you are currently living in King County and being threatened with eviction, contact the Housing Justice Project for legal assistance at 206-580-0762 or hjpstaff@kcba.org.

Please register. You will receive an email with a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. You can also connect to this program by telephone.
