EventsRent Smart: Mold & Your Tenant Rights

Rent Smart: Mold & Your Tenant Rights

3:00 PM – 4:45 PM

Description

Mold is a serious problem in the Pacific Northwest. It poses serious health risks to people who live in rentals with mold – and many tenants don’t know their rights or understand Washington state’s Residential Landlord-Tenant Act (RLTA) laws on dealing with mold.

Join Solid Ground tenant counselors to learn:

  • How to recognize when a house has a mold problem.
  • What the RLTA states about mold and tenants’ rights.
  • Landlords’ responsibilities to solve mold and repair problems.
  • What you should do as a tenant.
  • What you can do if your landlord doesn't fix the problem.

A visiting attorney from the Tenant Law Center may be available during presentations for general legal information. Legal aid resources are shared during the presentation as well.

If you are currently living in King County and being threatened with eviction, contact the Housing Justice Project for legal assistance at 206-580-0762 or hjpstaff@kcba.org.

Please register. You will receive an email with a Zoom link 24 hours before the event. You can also connect to this program by telephone.
