Join us for a screening of Illuminate: Bright Tongue, a film by Soo Hong, and stay to talk with the artists. 

In her omnibus films, Soo Hong presents stories of immigration, portraying each individual as a dreamer or vagabond who carries hope and finds ways to create meaning while adapting to new surroundings.

Bright Tongue blends documentary and visual poetry to connect the stories of seven immigrants from diverse backgrounds and countries of origin, including Eritrea, Japan, China, Iran, Argentina, India, and Costa Rica. 

This project is supported by the Open 4Culture grant and Northwest Film Forum Collective Power Fund.



Soo Hong is a visual artist living in Bellevue, WA.
