Freda Kelly was just a shy Liverpudlian teenager when she was asked to work for a local band hoping to make it big. Though she had no concept of how far they would go, Freda had faith in The Beatles from the beginning and The Beatles had faith in her. Many people came in and out of the band's circle as they grew to international stardom, but Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As The Beatles' devoted secretary and friend, Freda was there as history unfolded; she was witness to the evolution - advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges - of the greatest band in history. For the first time in 50 years, Freda shares her story.

I recommend this documentary for fans of The Beatles. Being the band's secretary would have been such a great gig! Good Ol' Freda is rated PG for some thematic material and smoking.

Very cute movie about a Liverpool teenager who became the Beatles' secretary and fan club coordinator from the beginning - she would go to the Cavern club in Liverpool for their lunchtime concerts. Fun to see her talk about their parents (visiting Ringo's mother every week) and George Harrison's father teaching her ballroom dancing. She knew the boys personally and is very respectful of their privacy. She claims she got the job because she was a Beatles fan herself. Is an interesting story from someone with an inside perspective. She does not elaborate or compromise the band or her position with the band for money or fame.

Not very fact filled nor action packed but a good, heartwarming story. A remarkable woman swept up in an interesting phenomenon. This film puts a human, day-to-day face on the Sixties and the Beatles in particular. Worth a view when you need a laid back documentary.

A must see for any Beatles fan, however if you are hoping to hear Beatles gossip you will be quite disappointed. What a wonderful, witty and charming woman.

I enjoyed it but if you're looking for gossip you'll be disappointed. She was with them from beginning to end and seems she was honest as well as loyal. She decided to keep a low profile even when it's clear that she could've capitalized on her position and made millions. Freda seems like a woman with integrity who basically came out of the shadows in order to leave a footnote in her family history, mainly for her grandchildren.

very interesting doc about the secretary to the manager of the Beatles who also organized the Beatles' fan club. she reveals her story more than 50 years after the fact, having maintained her privacy as well as not telling-tales about the Beatles and their families, all of whom were her friends.

Pretty thin gruel here. Good ol' Freda is disingenuous about her early relationship(s) with the lads, and it doesn't get any better from there. Nothing in terms of business dealings, though she was Brian Epstein's ("Ep" to insiders) secretary, at least for a little while. (Actually, it's a little unclear exactly what Freda's role was--director/secretary of The Beatles' fan club, mostly.) Wonderful description of the atmosphere in the Cavern Club when the early Beatles were the reigning house band but not much more after that. The doc doesn't even feature Beatles music, except for a couple of songs. Disappointing.

Wonderful documentary about a sweet woman who happened to work for the biggest band of all time. You expect dirt but either she doesn't have it or doesn't want to provide it but she gives great insights. Could have been much longer.
