Stalin's gulag, impoverished North Korea, collapsing Cuba ... it's hard to name a dogma that has failed as spectacularly as socialism. And yet leaders around the world continue to subject millions of people to this dysfunctional, violence-prone ideology. In The Politically Incorrect GuideTM to Socialism, Kevin Williamson reveals the fatal flaw of socialism-that efficient, complex economies simply can't be centrally planned. But even in America, that hasn't stopped politicians and bureaucrats from planning, to various extents, the most vital sectors of our economy: public educat.

Even if you do not agree 100% with the author's positions, he makes his point extremely lucidly and deserves consideration. At no point does he descend to spouting ideology for its own sake, always having a valid argument. This book should be a valuable enabler of intelligent discussion.

I wish this book had been around when I was taking my poli-sci classes. Williamson deconstructs the theory and gives real life, historical and contemporary examples of socialist thinking, enacted policies and their consequences.

The author of this book, Kevin Williamson, is an economics professor. In one of my favorite chapters, “Why Sweden Stinks”, Williamson explains why the Liberal pipe-dream, Sweden, “is rapidly transforming itself into the sort of society that will not be able to support the relatively successful welfare-state arrangements that characterized it throughout most of the twentieth century.” This is a book that should be read especially by young people, who have been so brainwashed they don’t even know socialism, fascism and communism all stem from the Left. So, no “stable of Conservative talking-heads” (not that there is anything wrong with Conservatives!), but one economics professor telling the truth about this ghastly economic system.

The world according to right-wing Regnery Publishing, Inc. (Eagle Publishing) and their stable of conservative talking heads including such luminaries as: Ann Coulter, David Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Dinesh D’Souza, Newt Gingrich, Mark Steyn, Mark Levin, Ed Klein, David Horowitz, Laura Ingraham, Donald Trump. Enjoy.

Sad that the Ultra Right still can't tell the difference between socialism and communism.
