The epic battles between Optimus Prime and Megatron have long thrilled Transformers fans. But these two giants weren't always great leaders and bitter foes. This new novel continues the electrifying saga that started with Once allies, Optimus and Megatron are now enemies in a civil war. To prevent Cybertron from falling into Megatron's hands, Optimus jettisons the planet's heart, the AllSpark, into space, then sets out to find it with Megatron hot on his heels. Optimus is determined to defeat Megatron, bring the AllSpark home, and restore Cybertron to its former glory. But a saboteur lurks aboard Optimus's spaceship, and ahead lie lost colonies, some of them hostile. Optimus needs help of the highest caliber, but from whom? Heroes such as Solus, Nexus, and Vector Prime are just names from make-believe stories of long ago. Or are they? Maybe it's time for Optimus Prime to find out. Maybe it's the only chance he has to vanquish mighty Megatron.

Transformers Exiles is the sequel to Transformers Exodus. The sequel was good, it follows the story of Optimus Prime and the Autobots continuing their search for the AllSpark, with Megatron and the Decepticons in pursuit to finish them off. In this story Optimus is lead by the Matrix of Leadership to two different worlds also inhabited by robots: Velocitron, a racing based planet where all the robots care about is going faster and Junkion, a floating scrapyard built up of countless ancient ship wrecks that junked together over the course of time. Junkion is inhabited by “Junkions” a race of transformers originally possibly marooned on the planet, who learned how to get by by scavenging and building. Both planets hold keys to certain mysteries The Matrix wants Optimus Prime to figure out. The novel was filled with certain turns I wasn’t expecting like when The Ark, (the Autobots‘ spacecraft) which was parked in space suddenly crashes twice in the novel and another scene where Optimus Prime hurls himself in a furnace to go after a sacred item. The only part I didn’t see really fitting were some Space Transformer Pirates that showed up toward near the end of the book and played as minor bad guys while Optimus and Megatron dealt with their own confrontation. It was an awesome book I couldn’t keep my eyes off of. If your a Transformers fan and have read Exodus, you’ll like this one too.
