Nordic Museum Grand Opening!

The Nordic Museum has long been one of my favorite museums in the city. Body Talk is, as the name implies, the compilation of the Body Talk trilogy. Body Talk Parts 1 and 2 were already released, so much of it is reiteration, but there are some new songs. However, I had never listened to Body Talk Parts 1 and 2 prior to this album, so it was all new to me. In fact, I remembered Robyn from the nineties, singing "Show Me Love" in the Britney-pop era. I enjoyed "Indestructible", "Call Your Girlfriend", and the radio edit of "Dancing On My Own". It is truly dance pop, but there are lyrics and emotion behind the song, not just the boosh-boosh-boosh of the bass and meaningless electronic whirrings. For anyone who likes dance music, I recommend BODY TALK.

I was disappointed with this disk. Most of the songs were on the first two Body Talk disks and the ones that weren't failed to capture my interest.

I am not generally into dance pop but can appreciate Madonna or good dance record. Many critics put this album on their year end lists which is why I checked it out. Don't believe the hype. This is typical run of the mill uninspired pablum that sounds like every other generic dance record out there.
