Young Daniel discovers poetry by talking to the animals in his favorite park. Beautiful pictures, and a good introduction to poetry for young readers.

This is a lovely book that helps introduce poetry to young readers. Creatures of all sorts describe to Daniel what poetry means to them as he seeks to understand what poetry is. The illustrations are beautiful too!

A little boy asks the wild animals at the park, "What is poetry?" and gets a different response from each one. Ultimately, they help him write his own poem that includes all of his nature observations. A nice pick for Poetry Month or Earth Day!
