This book, along with an inevitable post-Trump sequel, may someday serve as a Political Science text books on how not to lead a country. With the benefit of 10 months since the 2017 inauguration, anyone who is paying attention has already realized that Donald Trump has very little ability to actually lead anything to a successful conclusion, so the aspirations expressed in this book are just that - only aspirations. And likely to remain so. Meanwhile, the political "establishment" that is funded by foreign and Corporate dark money legalized by Citizens United vs FEC continues to do battle with everything, including the few remaining principled conservatives that they purportedly represent.

Horowitz is a good writer, but unless you are reaching for some material to fuel hope for your right-wing echo chamber, you can give this book a pass.
