Publisher's Weekly got it right when their review said: "The characters in this novel are expertly rendered....The plot is engaging and keeps the reader wondering what the end result will be." Another great book from this talented author. Adults and young adults will enjoy this coming-of-age story. I'm looking forward to a sequel.

Anyone whose trust has been betrayed will identify with Emma and her heartbreaking journey from pain into hope. Recommended for both young and older adults, as the trauma from this type of abuse does not necessarily fade with time.
As a counselor I'm aware of how destructive abuse of authority can be for young men and women. This author explores what has unfortunately become a common occurrence of abuse with a story that is both sensitive and understanding. This skillfully written novel is realistic, the characters complex and their predicaments provocative and moving.
