Hegemony How-to

Hegemony How-to

A Roadmap for Radicals

eBook - 2017
Rate this:
A guide to political struggle for a generation that is deeply ambivalent about power. While many activists gravitate toward mere self-expression and identity-affirming rituals at the expense of serious political intervention, Smucker provides an apologia for leadership, organization, and collective power, a moral argument for its cultivation, and a discussion of dilemmas that movements must navigate in order to succeed.

In response to the Star Gladiator post..ya ya..the financial hegemons; you got that right but what gets you up in the morning day after day to continue to live life with our now common shared declining life style..careful, your doom and gloom prose might end you up in a French hotel room not hanging out in a good way ya know like Anthony Bourdain recently.

Oh lordy, save us from the forever parsing intellectuals. If you don't know who owns anything, you won't know who owns everything. If you don't understand financial history, modern and recent, you will be as clueless as the day you were born. In the 1960s, the protests were against the financial hegemons - - today, they protest on behalf of the financial hegemons. The clueless have been so manipulated and hornswoggled, they believe they are // liberals \\ or // progressives \\ if they watch the Koch brothers-financed-and-controlled PBS, for gosh sakes!
