Having lived through the western phase of the 1950s and the spaghetti western phase of the 70s, and loving the reruns on AMC, I didn't find this as appalling as other reviewers. It was a pretty good story, but there was so much effort into making sure the stars looked beautiful/handsome that it detracted from potentially interesting bits. The whole point of the woman having been won in a poker game and "taken" without being consulted was glossed over as was her rape by the bad guy. Lots of potential wasted, but that's Hollywood.
A real disappointment. From any angle either western or cult, etc. it is a rubbish, boring, lame and dragging movie.
It's not bad which means also it's not good. The usual bad guy is the toughest to come to western type justice of the old west.
Another disappointing 'new' western. Takes place in Texas (filmed in Mississippi). So slow the horses even seem bored.
