Great movie! The music was awesome, it really added an extra punch to it, I loved the humor. The way they portrayed the relationship between the two daughters with their father and each other was good and realistic. I was so please with how they handled the ups and downs of the relationship, how supportive they all were of each other.

At first neither girl wants to wrestle, they don't want to be tool to be used to accomplish their father's dream but as they get stronger, start winning and developing their confidence and pride they're happy to wrestle. When the oldest daughter gets a professional coach and she forgets her father's teachings, she starts losing the wrestler she was, she becomes cocksure and humiliates her father for being so old & old fashioned. She starts losing unlike her younger sister who sticks to the old ways and keeps winning. Despite everything the eldest has done, her father's love for her is strong, when she asks for help he gives it without hesitation. That love kept supporting her even when he wasn't there. The ending scenes had moved me, it was beautiful.

My suggestion for purchasing this title was denied by King county library several weeks ago. Interestingly enough later on I see that the title is available thru the library with a long line on it. Thank Goodness for Netflix, no need to wait for the movie anymore!
This is a superb, powerful story that will keep you entertained till the very end.
This movie is very long, but offers lots of humor and great acting. I might be watching it again.
Indian culture is fascinating, but it is not easy to be girl (gender discrimination, child arrange marriages). Girls are born to do house chores, cook, clean and are married out when they are 14 years old to a man they have never met....unless they train to be a wrestler in order to escape their predestined fate.
A must-watch movie!

"Tomorrow's match is the most important. Because tomorrow you will not be fighting just that Australian, but all those people who think less of girls".
