Make the Most of hoopla

As someone who adores analog media, my home is filled with record players, typewriters, and of course- a tall stack of books on my bedside table. I love the smell of the pages and the weight of a book in hand. Books remain my favorite library collection, but over the years, I've discovered digital services that are quickly earning an equally special place in my heart. It started with… (more)

I agree with the reviewers saying this album is as uneven as her others. Still worthwhile if you enjoy her whole Old Hollywood shtick, which I do. It’s really just more of the same; she continues to give us an easy, breezy American fantasy, which is exactly what I want from Lana! My favourite tracks off the album are Love, Lust for Life, and Cherry. Her music always makes me want to get in a convertible and drive to California.

Like Del Rey's other albums, this one is very uneven. It contains some amazing songs - Love, Lust for Life, and Coachella - and some not-so-amazing. It's definitely worth a listen, if you like her other work.

American torch singer releases another somnambulant effort for weary millennials. I am not one. Personally I like Martha Davis of the motels and that chick who sang for Romeo void. I still like Lana, though.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I thoroughly enjoy Lana del Rey's songwriting and dreamy, Old Hollywood persona. Her fourth studio album Lust For Life isn't a significant departure from her previous albums when it comes to instrumentation and song construction, which infuse hip hop beats with soaring string accompaniments. However, lyrically, she takes a dynamic shift from Honeymoon by discussing the identity crisis facing millennials across America in the wake of political disharmony and ultimately leaving listeners with a sense of hope for the future. This in turn is what makes Lust for Life her most impactful and inspiring album to date. If you weren't a fan before, this won't convert you. But, I loved every second of it, especially her collab with rock legend (and one of my personal icons) Stevie Nicks.
