After Ferdinand, a bull with a big heart, is mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure.

Cute film even though you need to allow for major abstracts and surrealism from the truth. The overall subject of non-violence, is the key winner here, even though they had to throw in much filler to make a short story, into a full length animated feature film. Still enjoyed many moments and chuckles.

Not completely like the book, which is to be expected, but still a cute movie. Lots of laughs and tugs at the old heartstrings.

We really enjoyed this movie.

Everything about this made me uncomfortable. I love cartoons--Wonderful World of Disney was the big event of family viewing in my home when I was growing up. But warning to parents, you are going to have to try to undo the damage this completely un-researched project does. Hedgehogs are not the same as porcupines (and they do not travel by rolling). Bulls do not sit like dogs, nanny goats do not have upper teeth, but they do have udders. Malocclusion is extremely rare in farm animals. People in Spain don't speak English among themselves. (Note: in this movie the rich and famous speak English while the workers speak Spanish--doesn't that bother you?) And Germans are not all gay or mean girls. (And why were two hedgehogs thin and the one played by Gabriel Iglesias morbidly obese?) Much of the movie just feels like thinly veiled racism, so rather than a nostalgic look at one of the favorite books of my childhood, I am uncomfortable at the misinformation, and I am offended.

Ferdinand is such a sweet story, you can’t help but fall in love with him! I highly recommend, my little one loves it as well.

Heresy alert: I liked Ferdinand better than Coco!! Yes, Coco is visually spectacular but Ferdinand is so heartfelt and sweet (and still fun) with hilarious voice work. John Cena was an inspired choice for the big bull and Kate McKinnon as Lupe the goat/coach is a treat. I laughed out loud at the German/Austrian horses. Definitely see this one!
