Following on from Extinct Boids and Nextinction, Critical Critters is the third in this epic trilogy of books dedicated to extinct and critically endangered animals from cartoonist Ralph Steadman and film-maker Ceri Levy--the GONZOVATIONISTS.

Expect plenty more of what made the first two books so successful--unpredictable nonsense beasts, irreverent jokes, a diary-style record of the creative mayhem, and around 100 spectacular illustrations by Ralph of critically endangered mammals, insects, fish, lizards, and trees--a stunning collection, with a serious conservation message.

Ceri's humorous but meaningful message accompanied by Ralph's sensational paintings will satisfy art-lovers and conservationists alike.

Cartoonist and national treasure Ralph Steadman's unique take on critically endangered animals.

Ralph Steadman's unique "splash" art style coupled with Ceri's wit and fellowship with Steadman have presented serious conservation issues as only they could have. They put themselves out on an island with a time deadline to create each near extinct creature - each illustration in GLOWING COLOR is accompanied with (1) their witty creative comments back and forth, and (2) the serious story behind each critter and why is is nearing extinction.

I had to go back through the book several times to capture all the glorious illustrations and how Steadman poured his ink (and other potions) and then sat back with Ceri to use his artist's eye to see what critter appeared.

Their friendship along with the crew that was involved in getting this book published properly made the book for me.

CHILDREN and adults will love this book - I especially loved the RED SQUIRREL as I have one at my feeders and he's a charmer.
