(*Grinch movie-song lyrics excerpt*) - "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch..... You really are a heel.... You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel.... Mr. Grinch..... You're a bad banana with a greasy black peel!"

Even fifty-three years following its original television release-date back in 1966 - Dr. Seuss's "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" still holds a nostalgic charm all of its own that can be enjoyed by both children and adults, alike.

Note: This is the original animated version of the movie —not the version with Jim Carey in green face paint (produced years later).

How The Grinch Stole Christmas is one of my most favourite Christmas movies of all time. In 2001, Jim Carrey was awarded a People’s Choice Award for Favourite Comedic Movie Actor for his role as the Grinch. I believe that Jim Carrey was a perfect actor to portray his role of the Grinch because of the exaggerated facial expressions used and the energy he put into his character. I also love how much effort went into the different sets in the movie (such as the town, the Grinch’s cave, the post office and much more) because it gave a feel to the viewer that the world of the movie was real. I would rate this movie 5/5 stars because it’s a classic that I’ll never get tired of watching. @bookworm of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

How The Grinch Stole Christmas is an atypical christmas movie about a citizen of whoville who is an outcast in his town leading him to despise christmas. One year the grinch had a plan to ruin Christmas for whoville by stealing all their presents and decorations. Although along the way a young Cindy Lou Who teaches the grinch the true meaning of christmas, making him change his mind. I recommend this movie to anyone of any age, it can teach children a variety of good morals as well as being a fairly entertaining movie. @GoosReviews of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This must be my favourite Christmas movie, I loved Jim Carrey as the Grinch, I know a lot of controversy came along with him as this character, but I loved him. I thought his character and acting perfectly fit the movie and worked out amazingly. This was such a full out Christmas movie and you can tell so much work was put into it. The costume, characters and scenes were all so very well down. This movie is perfect for the whole family as it can be very entertaining for the kids with all the colours, but also the adults with the humour. 4.5/5 stars @EffyStonem of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board.

How the Grinch stole Christmas is probably everyone’s all-time favourite movie because it is just great. Jim Carrey played the character of the “Grinch” and did a wonderful job just like always. It was about how the grinch didn’t like Christmas because of a past incident and it really made him hate it but as time passes, he meets a girl who makes him realize that it is not that bad as he thought it would be and enjoys and celebrates Christmas. I would rate this movie 5 out of 5 because it is a great movie. @BirdieBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Simply one of the all-time best Christmas films, a must for any family (of whatever age).
Chuck Jones (Bugs Bunny, Road Runner) wonderful animation, Boris Karloff (!) narrating, Dr Seuss' timeless rhymes. Forget the Jim Carrey movie or the new 3-D animated version; neither can compete with this, the definitive version of "The Grinch".

This and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are the two specials that should part of any holiday viewing.

My favorite quote is: "Roast beast is a feast I can't stand in the least!"
