Grieving the recent death of his wife, Hasidic cantor Shmuel decides that, in order to move on, he must understand the science behind the decomposition process of his wife's body, despite the blasphemy inherent in any scientific inquiry. He seeks out Albert, a community-college biology professor who Shmuel enlists to teach informal science lessons. As their macabre misadventures and unlikely friendship grow, they prove they will stop at nothing to satiate their curiosity and find Shmuel the peace he seeks.

Absolute crap! Couldn't get past ten minutes. I can't understand the reason for bringing in such unworthy DVD's.
Bring in Brit Box TV show & movies as well as Acorn and Scandinavian crime.
Zero stars.

While the look into Hasidic culture was interesting, there were too many bad jokes ("Who doesn't like pork?") and cringe-inducing comments. And oh yes, the macabre decomposition obsession, smothering a pig, and morbid disrespect shown to multiple deceased. I don't understand how the resolution brought this man any comfort. The whole film was pointless. I might add I had a terrible nightmare after watching it -- I'll spare you the details -- but I've never been impressionable like that before! Please avoid this poorly-conceived horror.

I found nothing entertaining about this movie. Only made it about half way through ........just a little bit past the very long time lasped decomposing pig footage. Can't imagine that things were going to get any better. Confused to whom this movie would appeal to.
