Ridiculous story that I thoroughly disapprove of. In a survival situation, some can just sit around and make art, and then when everyone is starving, that art will lift everyones spirits. Entertainment and art have their place, but it's still important for everyone to pull their weight.

When the mice’s food supplies dwindle away during winter, everything becomes a memory. Frederick uses his endless store of supplies – the sunrays, the colour, and the words – to warm the hearts of his fellow field mice and feed their spirits during the coldest, darkest days of winter.

A family of field mice prepares for winter, working hard to gather food and supplies. When one mouse, Frederick, chooses to collect sun rays, colors, and words instead of food, his family is puzzled... until his supplies prove invaluable during the dark, cold winter.
