if chanting about great passages from buddhist abhidharmic psychology will lead to inner peace, then this is a good practical handbook.

even though they experience sufferings
the wise don't let the mind cloud or disturb
in making war on the addictions
the battle will bring much harm.

if you like passages like above, you will find a lot in this little book, and a neat comparison between the "violent west"(quote"the most violent and militaristic culture yet apparent on this planet". p21) and east approach on this subject.
