When three dead teenagers are slaughtered in a way no one had ever seen before, and a girl is found drained of blood in her bed, it's obvious that something is very wrong in and around Branson, Missouri. Anita Blake is right in the middle of it all. In addition to finding out what happened to the teenagers she also needs to raise an entire graveyard of two-hundred-year-old corpses. Today is going to be busy.

The first few Anita Blake books are very well written mysteries, with good paranormal ties. Hamilton does a pretty good job building a believable world, with paranormal creatures "out of the closet".
