The Question of God explores in accessible and dramatic style issues that preoccupy all thinking people today: What is happiness? How do we find meaning and purpose in our lives? How do we reconcile conflicting claims of love and sexuality? How do we cope with the problem of suffering and the inevitability of death? The program presents the lives and insights of Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis through dramatic storytelling and visual recreations, as well as interviews with biographers and historians. Interspersed throughout the film are discussions among a group of seven participants, moderated by Dr. Armand Nicholi, where Freud and Lewis are brought together in a great debate.

This is a 117-minute docudrama-&-dicussion film produced in 2004 for the PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) Home Vide.
No matter what your faith, or what you believe, how you undersnatd the meaning of life comes down to how you answer one ultimate question:
Does God really exist?
It expores, in accessible and dramatic style, issues that preoccupy you and me: What is happiness? How do you find meaning and purpose in your life?
How do you reconcile conflicting claims of love and sexuality? How do you cope with the problem of suffering and the inevitability of death?
This film illustrates the lives and insights of Sigmund Freud, a life-long critic of religious belief, and C.S. Lewis, a proponent of faith
based on reson.
Through dramatic storytelling and compelling visual recreations, as well as interviews with biographers and historians and live discussions,
you might be able to experience a turning point in your life.
I think this is one of the best thought-provoking films ever created on earth.

This is an excellent examination of two radically different views on God. Thoughtful analysis and discussions. Note: the notion that "profound claims demand profound evidence" shows a fundamental lack of knowledge on the nature of religious experience, and perhaps misses the nature of reality itself and why such proof can only be acquired personally and not collectively. C.S.Lewis was an atheist; as one of the most brilliant intellectuals of the 20th century, people should be curious just how he went from atheism to faith in God. Time well spent.

The concept of God, any God, in my opinion, is an illusion. An appreciation of science teaches that profound claims demand profound evidence.
