George Drouillard

Hunter and Interpreter for Lewis and Clark and Fur Trader, 1807-1810

Book - 2003 | 2nd ed
Rate this:
Drouillard was not a writing man, by and large, so Skarsten (1892-1993) had to reconstruct the biography of him from the journals of others on the expedition and from other trappers who left information about him. All the text and illustrations, including the fold-out map, are preserved from the first edition, which has long been out of print. Historian Robert C. Carriker (Gonzaga U.) contributes a new introduction. Annotation 2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
