Miss Austen regrets: Approaching her fortieth birthday, Jane Austen appears happily unmarried. When asked by her young niece Fanny to help her vet potential husbands, Jane's confident composure is threatened as she finds herself looking back on her own potential suitors and the choices she has made. Based on the life and letters of Jane Austen.
Sense & sensibility: Marianne Dashwood wears her heart on her sleeve when she falls in love with the charming but unsuitable John Willoughby, ignoring her sister Elinor's warning that her impulsive behavior leaves her open to gossip and innuendo. Elinor, sensitive to social convention, struggles to conceal her own romantic disappointment, even from those closest to her. Will the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find personal happiness in a society where status and money govern the rules of love?

This is a wonderful adaptation of Jane Austen's novel, with a great cast. It's not quite as visually grand and impressive as Ang Lee's version, but closer to the original novel in storyline, and in my opinion capturing Austen's characters more closely.

Watched only the first two minutes. When Jane Austen starts with a half nude sex scene, I am not watching.

I liked it.

My favorite version of Sense & Sensibility. Lovely cinematography & soundtrack. Stars Matthew from Downton Abbey.
Watch Included bonus dvd: Miss Austen Regrets - an interesting look into Jane Austen's life. Stars Lord Grantham from Downtown Abbey.

Not our favourite "Sense and Sensibility," but it's still good. And the "Miss Austin Regrets" is a very interesting biopic.

excellent adaptation of jane austen's sense and sensibility. definitely outshines the hollywood version with emma thompson. bbc delivers great acting, as usual, cinematography, etc.

Definitely one of the best screen adaptations of JA's Sense and Sensibility and my favourite so far.
The scenery, the acting, the music, the details...everything.

I did enjoy Emma Thompson's version, because she was always upfront about her 'creative liberties' and that it wasn't meant to mirror the novel 100%. :)
