Los Angeles, 2009. Arthur is a retired widower in a dystopian society where social services have gone the way of social graces, and another Bush occupies the White House. Forced from his home with only a duck named Joe to accompany him, Arthur embarks on a quest for purpose and community across the urban desert of Los Angeles. Arthur learns that saving the life of this duck may have led to the salvation of his own. In a duck who believes him to be its mother, an old man discovers dignity and the will to live on.

I was disappointed with this movie. It moved slowly, was humorous but not funny, and though the premise was sad, it did not pull me in emotionally. Even the Duck became tiresome after awhile. C-

This movie makes you appreciate what you have, because as we get older our future is not certain.

A modest horror about modern society and its foibles, and a man with a pet duck that try to survive in it.

We are nearly there, the way our society is headed, this movie could become a reality soon.
I would love to meet a person like Arthur from the movie, this man or woman could come into my house anytime....
This movie is a great mirror of our times. Watch and weep!
