Another fully-realized alternative world by Anne Bishop. (I wonder what she dreams about and whether that's where these places come from). The adolescent reader should be a little older than for "The Others" series because the sex is a little more explicit. I'm glad 'we' didn't lose any of out beloved characters-not permanently. Can't wait for the next read. I spent some time in the hospital and I had Book 2 with me to read. To my surprise the male nurse assigned to me was also a fan of the series. I always imagine a fellow reader to be female. It was a nice little bonding point for us. I'm glad the trilogy goes past Book 3. If you like modernized gothic romance with a little occult fiction thrown in, dive in and enjoy.
