Still funny, but also less compelling and more ragged than Five Children and It, the first book to feature these characters. There's no momentum to the series of increasingly wild adventures the children undertake with the help of their magical deus ex machina. The portrayal of tropical islanders and others shows the unfortunate prejudices of children and adults in Nesbit's time.

Very funny and interesting. Really liked the Phoenix and Baby Lamb.
