Some Days, It Doesn't Pay To Get Out Of Bed

That's what crosses Clint Evans's mind the minute he takes on the four thugs holding heiress Julie Rose hostage. It isn't the danger that has Clint in a lather, but Julie herself. The pretty, petite schoolteacher he's been hired to return to her wealthy fiancé is no fainting trust-fund baby. She's more of a hellcat, one who won't be deterred when she sets her sights on something. And her sights are set on Clint.

The one rule Clint never breaks is this--don't get involved with the client. He can look, but he definitely cannot touch--even if it's driving him crazy. Keeping Julie safe until he can figure out who's behind her kidnapping means never letting her out of his sight. And the closer he sticks to the feisty, seductive woman who makes him feel alive...the harder it gets for him to ever consider letting her go...

"Foster writes smart, sexy, engaging characters."--Christine Feehan

"A Lori Foster book is like a glass of good champagne--sexy and sparkling."--Jayne Ann Krentz

I don't know what is going on...but THIS IS NOT A EBOOK. For me It's readable in some parts...but I totally agree with BookishLady... she is a grown women who's just silly, clingy, and desperate to get in Clint pants. Honestly I am getting really pissed-off reading about these heroine that as been kidnapped / held hostage , and right after been rescued they want to get laid by a guy they met for the first time. What's up with that? Julie Ross totally ruined it for me.

Ugh, another Lori Foster special - makes no sense and a clingy, desperate heroine. Usually I read these as "brain candy" but I couldn't even get through this one.

Exciting and spunky, full of romance and strength...in whichever way strength comes.

Whatever reasons Clint had for trying to warn her off, her reasons for wanting to know him better were stronger. She wan't a woman to turn tail and run a the first sing of difficulty. One way or another, she'd get Cling Evans figured out.

He might be a hard-edged, fully capable mercenary, but she was a schoolteacher, and that meant she hand the advantage.

Clint could see her vulnerability, her desperate need for a compliment. It was strange, because he'd expected her to be jumpy around guys after what she'd just been through. And she was, just not with him.

Thumbs in his pockets, his stance as unthreatening as he could make it, Clint said, "you're sexy, Julie Rose."

Her eyes widened even more. She swallowed hard, turned pink, and got flustered. It was cute. She was cute.

He couldn't help but smile. "Don't go fainting on me again."

"No, I won't".
