The Other Woman's House
Book - 2012
"It's past midnight, but Connie can't sleep. To pass the time, she logs onto a real estate website in search of a particular house, the address of which was mysteriously in the GPS of her car that afternoon. As she clicks through the virtual tour of 11 Bentley Grove, she's shocked to see the body of a woman, lying face down on the living room floor in a pool of blood. But when she returns to show her husband Kit moments later, there is no body, no blood- only an ordinary beige carpet in an ordinary living room. Once again featuring detectives Charlotte (Charlie) Zailer and Simon Waterhouse"-- Provided by publisher.

Add a CommentIt’s summer 2010 near Silsford, England and Connie Bowskill suspects her husband has a girlfriend in Cambridge. When she spots a murdered female on a virtual reality tour of the apartment, her only clue, she starts as unreliable narrator. DCWaterhouse, on honeymoon with Zailer, believes her. The search leads to lost dream homes and alias addresses in great psychological winner.
Not worth your time. Unlikable characters, complicated and implausible plot.
Lasting Damage (2011)
(The Other Woman's House)
(The sixth book in the Culver Valley Crime series)
A novel by Sophie Hannah
Sophie Hannah basically writes these mysteries with similiar plots. Someone missing/dead and a female protagonist who has a repressed/ confused memory and who is an unreliable narrator. Enjoyed the series till I just got bored because the villain/mystery was easily solved.
Mystery about a woman who spots a murdered woman on real estate website virtual tour. The novel reveals too much at the end thereby extinguishing much of the suspense you get at the end. So so.
@Winslow I found out from the author's website that "Lasting Damage" is the UK title (published 2011), while "The Other Woman's House" is the US title (published 2012). link: http://www.sophiehannah.com/crime-fiction/47-2/
I think this is the same book as Lasting Damage by Sophie Hannah, but with a different title
A good suspenseful read.Sophie Hannah does psychological suspense very well
I love Sophie Hannah's books; they are all very suspenseful and very creepy! This one is particularly good and I could not put it down.
Another great suspenseful novel from Sophie Hannah - well worth the wait!
