I love Patricia Briggs' books, and Hob's Bargain is one of my favorites of her early writing -- quirky, funny, & intense. I especially like the transformation of the main character, coming into her own power as a woman. Strong women are the backbone of PB's books. HOWEVER, I have to say that I was very disappointed in the audiobook. Jennifer James Bradshaw, who reads the story, does a poor job of bringing this book to life. Her pacing is slow, especially at the beginning, her accents are very fake and are not at all consistent, and her cadence and word emphasis feel out of step with the story. If I hadn't read it first, I would never have finished it, and as it was, I considered stopping many times, although I had downloaded it to listen to on a hike. So I would definitely recommend the written version, and advise against the audiobook.
