The first 15 chapters cover how not to die from heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s, etc. Each chapter contains clearly explained concepts and information from various studies, and how to apply them to your daily life. The book is fascinating reading and can actually be read in whatever order is important to you, since each chapter is self-contained. There are not really many recipes, as is common among diet and nutrition books, but Dr. Greger takes the second half of this volume to cover individually his “Daily Dozen” foods which should be eaten every day. Over the years I have read countless books on diet and nutrition and this one is a mandatory addition to your bookshelf.
