Dr. Michael Greger is the founder of the very popular website Nutritionfacts.org. He is a longtime advocate of plant-based eating and has discussed and demonstrated time after time how important this type of diet is. In many cases, eating a plant-based diet causes the body to respond much more quickly and dramatically than it will to any pills or injections which the medical industry bombards us with. This book is a compilation of the best and latest information from the website and from Dr. Greger’s own research. The first 15 chapters cover how not to die from heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s, etc. Each chapter contains clearly explained concepts and information from various studies, and how to apply them to your daily life. The book is fascinating reading and can actually be read in whatever order is important to you, since each chapter is self-contained. There are not really many recipes, as is common among diet and nutrition books, but Dr. Greger takes the second half of this volume to cover individually his “Daily Dozen” foods which should be eaten every day. Over the years I have read countless books on diet and nutrition and this one is a mandatory addition to your bookshelf.
