Why is Korean food not as popular as it should be? Well, it will be. Books like this one here will inspire you to tread into unfamiliar territories and explore all of the wondrous flavors and characters that make up authentic Korean dishes. "Koreatown" is a no holds barred, (fairly) down and dirty account of how the locals cook and eat, which is exactly why I am a huge fan of this book. They get to the heart of the real eating issue and are unapologetic if you don't like or know where they are coming from. At the same point the book is so inviting with it's recipes and traditional concepts that I seriously doubt you will come away from reading this not a fan of Korean cuisine or at least a bit curious. If you like this one then you seriously need to check out "Maangchi's Real Korean Cooking" and anything by Lucky Peach. Geugeos-eul wihae ganda!
