Park ranger Anna Pigeon and her husband, Paul, go on a rafting trip in Big Bend National Park. She is hoping to recover from her recent brush with death but the couple soon find themselves sucked into a riptide of danger and intrigue that reaches from the Mexican desert to the Texas governor's mansion.
