Comment:

The art is fine. The twists during the return trip are fine. What isn't fine is the unfortunate relationship between the chicken and her eggs. She trades two of her unhatched children to add to the cake to get a piece of that cake. This is what it looks like when we don't know where our food comes from. I know a bunch of chicken raising kids who would not appreciate the chicken making that deal. Also, kindness doesn't mean "allowing everyone to take advantage of you" which is what they all did to the mouse to the detriment of his plans and his friend's special day. Weird messages in this book.
